The earner of the UCR Communication competency badge has completed a variety of activities on campus designed to assist them in LEARNING communication skills, increasing and applying their knowledge through direct EXPERIENCE, and ENGAGING their learning and experience through career exploration and goal setting.

Earning Criteria
Optional
Students participate in Learning Activities that assist in obtaining Communication skills such as approved UCR courses, campus career and self-betterment workshops, and LinkedIn Learning courses.
Students participate in Experiential Learning Activities that actively engage them with campus clubs, internships, jobs, undergraduate research, and more to apply learning to real-world situations.
Students enage in Career Management Activities designed for career exploration and goal setting. Students also write a mandatory reflection essay allowing them to articulate the skills and abilities they obtained by participating in the Research Literacy competency activities and how their experiences fit with the competency definition and their own career or graduate school goals.
